Like Me Love Me Leave Me
Notes on the songs on “Like Me Love Me Leave Me":
[While this shows prices for the individual songs and for the whole CD, that is there because the website program had it. Feel free to fully listen to any/all of these songs as well as download any of them. Pay if you want - I will donate proceeds to charities such as our church youth group, Cross Roads Camp & Retreat Center (a joint operation of the ELCA and Episcopal churches in NJ), or the Franklin Food Bank (Franklin Two, NJ). Or you can decide to donate to a charity you like and just tell me what it is. Please - nothing political.].
An overall description of my music: “Original songs with folk, folk-rock, and country elements dealing with life, love, and some fun as well."
Like Me Love Me Leave Me - I wrote this after seeing that a young woman who waited on our table at the Million Dollar Cowboy Saloon in Jackson Hole, WY had a unique tattoo on her arm. It was Italian or Latin: “Come me - Amami - Lasciami” which translated to “Like Me Love Me Leave Me”. Hope she’s found lasting love.
Driving in the Rain - Just one of those days driving to work in the pouring rain. Sigh….
In the Stillness of the Evening - Hush….
The Ron Song - Speaks for itself. It was a funny incident.
The Fairy Tree - We took a tour of Ireland a year or so back. Loved it! Also loved seeing and hearing about the Fairy Trees in the fields. Had to write about it.
Slurry - Another song inspired by our trip to Ireland. The smell of slurry made a lasting impression. Source of many jokes on the bus.
Potter’s Field - If you don’t know what a Potter’s Field is, look it up. There is one not far from Newark Airport that has intrigued me for years. It is in a horrid state of neglect and needs to be cared for.
Final Concert (for Bat McGrath) - Bat was one of my musical heroes when growing up. He contracted terminal cancer and gave a great “final" concert in Rochester in January, 2019. He passed away in October. Wrote this to honor Bat and let all know how much he gave to me and so many others.
Drifter - Not sure why I wrote this. Tried to make it so that it could be sung by anyone of any gender or non-gender to tell of an unrequited love.
I Am Yours - Wrote this love song for my wife.
Marshall, NC - Our daughter and granddaughter live in Marshall, and it’s a really nice hippy-throw-back, 'living-off-the-land' kind of town. Always great to visit.
